05 June 2018

16:00 -18:30

Bruxelles

Auditorium Maisin

The ERA-HDHL project FiberTAG (https://www.fibertag.eu/) started in April 2017, and implicates key experts in the field of nutrition who plan to validate a set of biomarkers linking dietary fibre (DF) intake and gut-microbiota related health effect. The project revisits the concept of DF based on novel biological effects that can occur upon gut microbiota-nutrients interaction by using existing cohorts and by developing innovative approaches to evaluate the health interest of insoluble DF.

The first FiberTAG conference will present the rationale of the project. It will take place on June 5th 2018 at the Maisin auditorium (UCL) in Brussels.

The program involves the leader of the research groups involved in the project :

16:00 - 16:20 Nathalie Delzenne (UCL, Belgium) - Presentation of the past, present and future of dietary fiber

16:20 -16:50 Martine Laville (CRNH-Rhône-Alpes, France) - Dietary fiber and health : What we can expect and how to explore it?

16:50 -17:30 Jens Walter (University of Alberta, Canada) - Assessment of gut microbiota composition and function in the development of biomarkers

17:30 - 18:00 Stephan Bischoff (University of Hohenheim, Germany) - Assessment of gut microbiota composition and function in the development of biomarkers

18:00 - 18:30 All - General discussion

The event is free of charge. However, the registration online is mandatory https://www.fibertag.eu/events/
