The Rector of the University of Louvain expresses great concern over the possible closure of the Central European University (CEU) as a result of the new Hungarian legislation and he would like to express his solidarity with CEU members.
The CEU is not only recognized worldwide for research excellence, it has also become a vibrant hub of knowledge exchange, connecting many researchers across the world. The CEU represents the essence of what academia is about: free and collaborative thinking to push the boundaries of knowledge always further and to find innovative solutions to societal challenges.
The University of Louvain joins the many other pleas to the Hungarian government to enable the CEU to continue its activities in Budapest.
