Who can migrate? What are the conditions for moving from one country to another? To answer these questions, we are releasing a new MOOC in February 2024: Migration Law!
Zoé Crine presents this course below.
This online course provides a theoretical and practical analysis of developments in migration law, enabling you to master its fundamentals. It features contributions from many international experts, including Trésor Maheshe, James Hathaway, Delphine Nakache, Neila Jaibi, Koen Lenaerts, François Crépeau and many others.
A sneak preview can be found here of a clip from the European courts of Luxembourg and Strasbourg, which are engaged in a dialogue on immigration matters through a mechanism increasingly commonly referred to as cross-fertilisation. This fascinating exchange between two specialists from these courts was organised by the Rights and Migration Team in Luxembourg in October 2022. Sylvie Sarolea had the great privilege of talking to the President of the Court of Justice, Koen Leenaerts, and Professor Sébastien Van Drooghenbroeck, a renowned specialist in the case law of human rights bodies, including the European Court of Human Rights. Together, they analyse the way in which the two Courts inspire, observe and complement each other, while highlighting their uniqueness. A lengthy discussion that can be followed in thematic sequences.
