14 & 15 February

Multiple cultures, universal rights
Bernard Foccroulle is being honoured with honorary doctorates this Thursday 15 February in Louvain-la-Neuve.
And to introduce him to the entire university community, we have chosen Mr Bart Demuyt of the KULeuven, and Pauline Dupret, a member of the ILC at UCLouvain.
Why Pauline Dupret?
Pauline is both a scientific researcher at the Institute of Language and Communication (UCLouvain) and an amateur violinist. She has long been involved in the Orchestre Symphonique des Etudiants de LLN (OSEL), as president and on the board of directors. The authorities were looking for someone who had been involved in university cultural life, particularly music, and who could also represent the student and doctoral community, and not just academics. Bernard Foccroulle is a major figure in the Belgian music scene, so this was a very good proposal on their part.
Pauline Dupret is a researcher at our ILC Institute. Trained as a novelist (with a certificate in musicology), she is doing a thesis in discourse analysis under the supervision of Philippe Hambye.
