Integrated soil and water resources management

L4WATER

Research Field and Subjects

Soil and water are key natural resources for agricultural development and ecosystem functioning. Sustainable exploitation of these resources implies that management objectives in space and time, across the different compartments of the hydrosphere and pedosphere be taken into consideration. Research in this area is devoted to the characterization and modelling of different soil and water functions and services, in support of the sustainable management of the natural soil and water resources.

  • Integration of the transfer of water, solutes and solids within hydrological entities: watershed, reservoir, groundwater body, region.
  • Design of hydrological database and information systems.
  • Development and application of integrated hydrological models.
