Summer School 2.1 ‘A Blue Space in Transition’

Summer School 2.1 ‘Un Espace Bleu en transition’

Short Project description

The Eurometropolis Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai chose water as the backbone for a regional joint project, the Blue Space. During the Summer School, students from different disciplines experienced an interdisciplinary approach to investigate this space as an active agent of transition. Different design strategies were elaborated on 3 case studies integrating the social, ecological and climate change questionings at stake through a multi-scalar approach. They explored the cases through: fieldworks, discussions with stakeholders, interdisciplinary workshops, elaborations of spatial strategies, models, collective and participative cartographies. This process and the obtained results illustrate the device of the Blue Space as a platform for co-creating cross-boundaries dialogues.
