Patient-reported outcomes, psychometrics and clinimetrics

IONS

Patient-reported outcomes (PROs), psychometrics, and clinimetrics play crucial roles in assessing and improving healthcare quality. PROs involve direct feedback from patients regarding their health status, symptoms, and treatment outcomes. Psychometrics refers to the measurement of psychological constructs, such as quality of life, using standardized tests and scales to ensure reliability and validity. Clinimetrics focuses on evaluating the clinical relevance and utility of these measures in guiding patient care and decision-making. Several research groups of the institute are developing rigorous PRO,  psychometric and clinimetric approaches that can be used to evaluate disease progression and treatment outcomes in neuroscience, ultimately leading to more effective and patient-centered care.
