The Princess Lilian Foundation offers yearly a visiting professorship with a specific aim to stimulate, young, active, Belgian (and European) student-investigators. The proposed candidate should have demonstrated excellence in medical sciences as evidenced by breakthroughs in research, vision, opinion leadership as well as didactic capability, including towards young investigators. The topic of his/her expertise is not necessarily restricted to cardiovascular diseases. The visiting professor is expected to give only one or two general lectures. His main task is to meet young Belgian student-investigators working on themes related to his expertise, through seminars or “on the bench” sessions, preferably, in several Belgian Universities. The visit should allow interaction between the various concerned Belgian research groups as well as with joint projects involving other European teams (EU projects if any). The visit should last up to one week. It should be followed by a detailed report on the mission.
The Foundation covers travel and accommodation expenses and offers an honorarium.
