Alexia Autenne, new General Administrator of UCLouvain

 

On October 1, Professor Alexia Autenne will succeed Dominique Opfergelt as General Administrator of UCLouvain.

Alexia Autenne is a Professor at the Faculty of Law and Criminology and a Research Associate at the FNRS. After studying at UCLouvain and the University Cambridge, she began her scientific career at our university in 2000. A specialist in economic law, her scientific contributions include corporate governance, economic analysis of law and pensions. She has held numerous positions at UCLouvain, including that of a member of the board of the academic body of UCLouvain (CORA) and a member of the university's administrative council. She has also held several management mandates in governmental and scientific organizations, including the presidency of l’Association internationale de droit économique.

Alexia Autenne will succeed Dominique Opfergelt, General Administrator since 2010. The Academic Council warmly thanked him for his ten years of remarkable commitment to the institution. In particular, it stressed the high quality of his work and expertise in the service of the sound management of the university.

Subject to confirmation of her appointment by the Administrative Council on 3 June and the agreement of the university's organizing authority, Alexia Autenne will take up her post on 1 October 2020.

Appointed for a five-year term, the general administrator of the university is responsible for the day-to-day management of the university in financial matters, the management of property assets and university infrastructure and IT administrative. As secretary general of the university, he or she is also responsible for the organization and administrative coordination of the follow-up to the decisions of its organs, the prevention and management of legal risks.
