Vice-Rector in Hainaut

Alain Vas

Alain Vas has been vice-rector in Hainaut since October 2015. In this capacity, he elaborates and implements the development strategy of the Université Catholique de Louvain in Hainaut (Mons, Tournai, Charleroi), both in terms of teaching programmes and research activities and services to society.

 

A graduate of the Catholic University Faculties of Mons (UCL-Mons) in Commercial and Management Engineering, Alain Vas holds a PhD in Management Sciences from the University of Paris XII and a DEA in Strategy and Management from HEC-Paris X-ESSEC. He was a visiting researcher at HEC Montréal.

He is a professor in Strategy and Change Management at the Louvain School of Management (LSM) and his research focuses on strategic change management and organisational innovation. He is co-founder of the Center for Research in Entrepreneurial Change and Innovative Strategies (CRECIS) at ILSM. He was Dean of the Louvain School of Management from 2008 to 2014 and holder of the KBL-CBC Research Chair in Change Management from 2008 to 2012.
