We offer expertise and services in the following domains:
- Physico-chemical analysis of soils, water and plant biomass (ACME platform);
- Soil physical properties characterization;
With our experience and our large collection of samples (a xylarium including more or less 3000 temperate and tropical species), we can provide independent expertise to identify timber, of temperate and/or tropical origin. A herbarium, containing a large collection of leaves and fruit trees from the African continent and tropical regions is also available. We can also analyse the growth processes of trees with our dendrochronology laboratory. If you are interested, contact Pierre Lhoir (010 / 47.36.99) and Olivier Bouchez (010 / 47.49.98). In addition, a university certificate on the theme "Wood in Construction" is co-organized by the Faculty of Bioengineer and the Faculty of architecture.
- Development and use of Geographic information System (GIS);
- Computer products.
The Environmental Sciences group also makes available data bases and field equipment for dendrometry, soil physics, hydrology, light measurements etc.
We also have permanent study sites and are part of Walloon and European networks in the themes related to our research.
