Call « FSR Post-doc 2025 » - Incoming Postdoctoral Fellowships

DL: 01/10/2024 09h00 - Deadline for the submission of applications to the call "FSR Post-doc 2025" for incoming post-doctoral researchers within the research entities of UCLouvain.

The 2025 call is funded by FSR funds. This will allow to award 15 post-doctoral 3 years-fellowships.

Applications must be submitted electronically to the UCLouvain Research Administration (crec-adre@uclouvain.be) by Tuesday 1 October 2024 at 9 am at the latest.

Purpose

This funding aims to create favourable conditions for transnational mobility of highly qualified researchers through the award of postdoctoral fellowships. All scientific disciplines are eligible.

Eligibility

The incoming postdoctoral fellowships are intended for:

  • experienced researchers with a doctorate;
  • researchers with a maximum of five years’ postdoctoral experience;
  • researchers who are internationally mobile, i.e. who have not lived or carried out their main activity (work, study, etc.) in Belgium for more than 24 months in the three years prior
  • to the project start date. All nationalities are eligible.

Applicants must also apply to the "Chargé de recherche" instrument of the F.R.S.-FNRS call for Fellowships and Mandates, which will open in the second half of December 2024 (call closes end of January 2025).

Details

Funding comprises a tax-exempt postdoctoral grant for 12-36 months that takes account of the researcher’s experience and includes third-party insurance costs, social security contributions and an operating budget.

Procedure

Electronic submission to crec-adre@uclouvain.be ; calls are annual and are organised once per academic year.

The project selection process takes place in four stages:

  1. Eligibility of the applications
  2. Preselection by the Research Council
  3. Proposals classified A (at least three times the number of available grants) are evaluated by international peer reviewers
  4. Interviews by selection committee of the Research Council

Applications are assessed on the following criteria:

  • quality of the applicant,
  • quality of the research proposal,
  • mutual impact of collaboration.
