Subject-specific doctoral committees

VALO DOC LOUVAIN

Sixteen subject-specific doctoral committees (CDDs) cover all of the fields of study and research in which it is possible to pursue a PhD at UCL.

Within its own specific subject area, each CDD is responsible for monitoring and approving the various stages involved in doctoral studies, from admission through to the awarding of a degree.

As such, whether you are a PhD student, supervisor, member of a supervisory panel, chair or member of a PhD examination board, the CDD will be your main point of contact for any matters concerning doctoral studies, including any problems that may arise.

Each CDD is made up of academic members and one or more research and teaching representatives; the PhD programme manager acts as secretary.
