Le F.R.S.- FNRS ouvrira l'appel « FNRS-WELCHANGE 2023 » sur E-Space le jeudi 6 avril.
· Pour quoi ?
Le « FNRS-WELCHANGE » financera des projets dans des thématiques stratégiques sociétales, comme par exemple les grandes transitions, ainsi que l’émergence d’approches interdisciplinaires avec des impacts sociétaux potentiels.
· Pour qui ?
Le promoteur principal appartiendra au domaine des Sciences humaines et sociales. Une collaboration est possible avec des co-promoteurs d’autres domaines.
· Quoi ?: financement de 4 ans,
ü jusqu'à 84.000 € par an pour un projet mono-universitaire ;
ü jusqu'à 120.750 € par an pour un projet pluri-universitaire (plus d’une institution de la Communauté française de Belgique impliquée).
· Comment ?:
Le calendrier de l'appel est le suivant:
- le plus tôt possible: démarrage de la demande sur E-Space ;
- avant le jeudi 25 mai 2023 à 14h : validation électronique par l’investigateur principal ;
- jeudi 1er juin 2023 : validation électronique par le·s copromoteur·s éventuel·s ;
- mardi 6 juin : validation au nom du Recteur ;
- début des projets le 1er janvier 2024.
Outre la qualité du proposant et du projet, la pertinence des impacts sociétaux potentiels sera prise en compte lors de l’évaluation des propositions.
Au cas où il est prévu que le candidat promoteur principal accède à la pension/l’éméritat après le 06 juin 2023 et avant la fin du financement s’il est accordé, le dépôt de la candidature est conditionné à l’accord préalable du Recteur. S’il est prévu que le promoteur accède à l’éméritat pendant la durée de l’octroi, il importe d’informer l’ADRE rapidement de son intention de déposer une candidature et de préciser le nom de l’académique qui reprendra la gestion de l’octroi. L’ADRE se charge ensuite de solliciter l’approbation du Bureau Exécutif.
Partenariat Clinique – université : un accord de collaboration est nécessaire et l’implication des cliniques doit être décrite dans la partie scientifique par l’attribution de tâches. Un modèle d’accord de collaboration validé par le F.R.S.-FNRS est joint à cet email.
Je vous invite à être particulièrement attentifs à l'estimation des coûts de personnel, les coûts indiqués dans la demande détermineront le montant octroyé et ne pourront plus être modifiés. Il est donc indispensable de prendre contact avec votre CLC ou l’Administration de la recherche afin d'établir une estimation la plus précise possible.

The F.R.S.- FNRS will open the call " FNRS-WELCHANGE " on E-Space on April 6, 2023.
- What for?
The " FNRS-WELCHANGE " funds projects in strategic societal themes, such as major transitions, as well as the emergence of interdisciplinary approaches with potential societal impacts.
- For whom?
- main promoter must be active in the field of SHS. Collaboration with co-promotors from other fields is possible.
- What: 4 years funding
- up to 84.000 € per year for Single-university project ;
- up to 120.750 € per year for Multi-university project.
- How?
The timeline of the call is as follows:
- as soon as possible: start the application on E-Space;
- before Thursday 25 May at 2 pm: electronic validation by the principal investigator;
- Thursday 1st June : electronic validation by the co-promotors;
- Tuesday 6 June : electronic validation on behalf of the Rector;
- start of the projects on January 1st 2024.
In addition to the quality of the applicant and the project, the attention paid to the relevance of potential societal impact will be taken into account during the evaluation of the proposals.
If the PI who is appointed permanently and accesses pension / becomes professor emeritus after June 6 2023 and before the end of the funding scheme in case of granting, the submission of the application shall be subject to the prior approval of the Head of institution where the research will be carried out. In this case, please contact us as soon as possible and provide us the name of the professor who will take over the programme. We will contact the BEX for approval.
Clinic – university collaboration : A collaboration agreement is necessary and the involvement of the clinics must be described in the scientific part by the attribution of tasks. A model of collaboration agreement validated by the F.R.S.-FNRS is attached to this email.
We advise you to contact your CLC (Cellule Logistique et Comptable) or the ARH (Human resource department) to obtain an estimate of the personnel costs, amounts cannot be changed after the application submission.
