J’ai le plaisir de vous informer du lancement de l’appel « FSR Post-doc 2024 » pour l'accueil de postdoctorantˑes en situation de mobilité internationale au sein de vos entités de recherche.

L’appel 2024 est financé grâce aux fonds FSR et permettra d’octroyer 15 bourses postdoctorales de maximum 3 ans.

Les dossiers (1 proposition maximum par promoteur) doivent être introduits en version électronique auprès de l’Administration de la Recherche de l’UCLouvain (crec-adre@uclouvain.be) pour le dimanche 1er octobre 2023 à 9h au plus tard.

J’attire votre attention sur le fait que :

1) La date de clôture de l’appel a été fixée afin de permettre aux lauréats de l’appel FSR postdoc de commencer leur mandat dès mars 2024 s’ils le souhaitent.

2) L’articulation avec le F.R.S.-FNRS est obligatoire :

  • Les candidats devront également postuler à l’instrument « Chargé de recherche » de l’appel Bourses et Mandats du F.R.S.-FNRS qui s’ouvrira durant la deuxième quinzaine de décembre 2023 (clôture de l’appel fin janvier 2024) ;
  • Les lauréats de l’appel FSR auront ainsi la garantie d’avoir un financement même s’ils ne sont pas retenus par le F.R.S.-FNRS ;
  • En cas d’obtention du mandat de’ Chargé de Recherche’ du F.R.S.-FNRS, les lauréats de l’appel FSR pourront anticiper leur séjour à l’UCLouvain grâce au financement FSR.

3) S'ils sont éligibles, les candidats sont également encouragés à postuler à l'appel à candidatures pour les bourses postdoctorales Horizon Europe MSCA (actions Marie Sklodowska-Curie). Le prochain appel sortira le 10/04/2024, avec une date de clôture le 11/09/2024.

4) La règle de mobilité internationale diffère de ce qui est appliqué pour les actions Marie Sklodowska-Curie sous Horizon Europe : se trouve en 'situation de mobilité internationale', le chercheur qui n'a pas résidé ou exercé son activité principale (emploi, études, ...) en Belgique pendant plus de 24 mois au cours des 3 dernières années qui précèdent immédiatement la date de démarrage du projet ;

5) Le processus de sélection est le suivant :

  • Présélection des dossiers par les membres du Conseil de Recherche ;
  • Envoi des dossiers classés A (maximum trois fois le nombre de dossiers disponibles) aux experts extérieurs ;
  • Audition de tous les candidats classés A.

I am pleased to inform you of the launch of the «FSR Post-doc 2024» call for incoming post-doctoral researchers in international mobility within your research entities.

The 2024 call is funded by FSR funds and will allow to award 15 post-doctoral 3 years-fellowships.

Applications (maximum 1 proposal per supervisor) must be submitted electronically to the UCLouvain Research Administration (crec-adre@uclouvain.be) by Sunday 1 October 2023 at 9am at the latest.

I draw your attention on the fact that:

1) The closing date of the call has been set to allow FSR post-doc laureates to start their term from March 2024 onwards if they wish;

2) The articulation with the F.R.S.-FNRS is mandatory:

  • Candidates must also apply to the "Chargé de recherche" instrument of the F.R.S.-FNRS call for Fellowships and Mandates, which will open in the second half of December 2023 (call closes end of January 2024);
  • The recipients of the FSR call will thus be guaranteed being funded even if they are not selected by the F.R.S.-FNRS;
  • If the F.R.S.-FNRS ‘Chargé de Recherche’ is awarded, the recipients of the FSR call will be able to anticipate their stay in UCLouvain thanks to FSR funding.

3) If eligible, the applicants are also strongly encouraged to apply to the Horizon Europe MSCA (Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions) Postdoctoral Fellowships call. The next call will be issued on 10/04/2024, with a closing date of 11/09/2024.

4) The international mobility rule differs from what is applied for the Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions under Horizon Europe: the researcher cannot have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Belgium for more than 24 months in the 36 months immediately before the starting date of the project;

5) The selection process is as follows:

  • Preselection by the Research Council;
  • Proposals ranked A (at least three times the number of available grants) are evaluated by international peer reviewers;
  • Interviews of all candidates ranked A.
