The position of a postdoctoral researcher (m/f)
is available in the Pole of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (FATH), Institute for Experimental and Clinical Research (IREC), Université Catholique de Louvain, Brussels. The candidate will work on new mechanisms of signaling by the beta3 adrenergic receptor, e.g. in mouse and human cardiac and adipose tissue cells, in the context of myocardial remodeling. He/she will also be involved in proteomic/metabolomic assays for unbiased discovery and validation of new inter-organ signaling by this receptor .
Applicants must hold a PhD in Biology/Biochemistry (or an equivalent scientific degree), be highly motivated, independent and senior enough to organise the work of technicians and biological or medical doctoral students and integrate themselves into a team. An excellent background in molecular biology and experimental animal work are required, as is fluently spoken English. A background in proteomic/metabolomic techniques and bioinformatic analysis of output is an advantage.
At least two publications as first author in international journals with impact factor ≥ 5 is mandatory.
The candidate will work in a very international and highly motivated, well-financed surrounding with most modern equipment. The position is initially for 2 years (renewable) and payment is approx. 33,000 euros per annum.
