A fourth Galen Prize awarded to the FATH Pole

Bruxelles Woluwe

Congratulations to Cyril Corbet, fourth Galien Prize recipient in our Pole of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (FATH/IREC) !

Since 1982, the prestigious Galien Prize acknowledges the best Belgian researchers in pharmacology. This year, we are proud to announce that Cyril Corbet, FNRS post-doctoral researcher in the pole of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (FATH), received the 2019 Galien Prize for his research on the targeting of cancer cell metabolism. The objective of Dr. Corbet's research is to identify therapeutic solutions that exploit the acidic environment of cancer cells.

This is the fourth Galien Prize awarded to a member of FATH. Previous Galien Prize awardees in the Pole are Pr. Jean-Luc Balligand (1996), Pr. Olivier Feron (1999), and Pr. Pierre Sonveaux (2009). These achievements testify to the excellence of the research projects conducted by FATH members and to the importance of the results obtained for the development of new therapeutic approaches.
