Dr ORDOVAS-MONTANES is an outstanding scientist who established the cellular basis for a form of “inflammatory epithelial memory” standing in stem cells of the airway mucosa. His work also pioneered the concept of tissue ecology and diversity across organs and diseases. Another distinctive feature of Dr ORDOVAS-MONTANES lies in his innovative and inclusive manner of mentoring trainees in his laboratory.
