The UCLouvain centre of Allergy, based at Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc, CHU-UCL Namur and at the Faculty of Medecine, has just been officially recognized as an Excellence center by the World Allergy Organization (WHO). This award, reserved to a few institutions (only 12 in Europe), highlights the excellence of UCLouvain and its hospital centers in the field of allergology, a discipline that remains insufficiently recognized in our country. With specialized pulmonologists, dermatologists, ENT and pediatricians, this center offers an integrated care of patients with respiratory, skin, food as well as drug allergies. The UCLouvain center of Allergy also drives cutting-edge research programs at the IREC institute and offers a specific training of this discipline to future doctors, globally underlying a multidimensional dynamics to improve the quality of care to patients.
