Platform Regulation and Operation in the Sharing Economy

Louvain-La-Neuve, Mons

Three Professors of LSM (Paul Belleflamme, Philippe Chevalier and Jean-Sébastien Tancrez) have been awarded an ARC subvention to fund four PhDs and two post-doctoral students over the next five years.

They joined forces with four other Professors of UCLouvain (Johannes Johnen, Anaïs Périlleux, Anne-Lise Sibony and Alain Strowel) and one Professor from UNamur (Aadhaar Chadurvedi) to elaborate a multidisciplinary research proposal, entitled "Platform Regulation and Operations in the Sharing Economy" (PROSEco).

Combining insights from economics, law and operations, the aim is to study how sharing economy platforms (Airbnb, BlaBlaCar, or Cambio e.g.) can deliver long-lasting value for their stakeholders and for society as a whole.

A detailed description of the research proposal can be found here.
