At the 2014 Annual Meeting of Decision Sciences Institute, LSM Prof. Eric Cornuel, EFMD Director General and CEO, was awarded the John J. Fernandes Strategic Leadership Award. Prof. Cornuel was recognised for his entrepreneurial endeavours, his deanship at KIMEP, his influence in the field of management education, and for being an “extraordinary leader from the earliest days.”
In December 2014 Prof. Cornuel was awarded the National Order of the "Légion d'honneur" by the President of the French Republic. The Order, which is the highest decoration in France, recognised his eminent merits in the area of higher education and research, flawless performance, creativity and contribution to the growth of the others.
In January 2015 Prof. Eric Cornuel was awarded the degree of ‘Honorary Professor’ of Moscow International Higher Business School (MIRBIS). The Academic Council of MIRBIS Institute confers this exclusive degree on people who made a great contribution to the development of relations between the nations, shaping public opinion and creating conditions for peace and prosperity in the world. This honorary professorship has been awarded before to people like Romano Prodi, Anatoly E. Karpov or Peter Lorange.
