Papers presented and discussed at this edition of the BFRF on May 27 were of very good quality. More than 30 papers were presented and the participation of all Belgian universities was a key ingredient in the success of the forum.
We also had the pleasure to listen to several senior researchers from the Netherlands and France. A good balance between presentations by junior and senior researchers was reached, with the papers presented by young researchers being primarily discussed by senior researchers.
Last but not least, we were very glad to welcome Prof. Bart Lambrecht (Cambridge Judge Business School) who was introduced by our Dean, Prof. Michel De Wolf. Prof. Lambrecht (see picture) gave a keynote speech entitled ‘Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance’ during which he presented a dynamic agency model of a mature public corporation in which managers set the firm’s investment, borrowing and payout decisions.
