As part of the 2024 honorary doctorates, UCLouvain and KU Leuven are pleased to invite you to take part in a few special moments with our three honourees.

 

Meet Seyla Benhabib, professor of political science and philosophy (Turkey/USA)

Last minute: As Seyla Benhabib is unable to travel to Belgium for reasons beyond her control, the meetings planned with her have been postponed until May.

- The academic seminar "Globos, demos, cosmos - Cosmopolitanism in Transformation", organised by UCLouvain, will be held in Louvain-la-Neuve on Tuesday 14 May from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm. Information and registration: jean.demunck@uclouvain.be

- The conference "Cosmopolitanism reconsidered", organised by Ethics KU Leuven, will take place in Louvain on Wednesday 15 May, from 4pm to 5.30pm. Open to all, no registration required. Information

Seyla Bengabib will, however, take part remotely in the official ceremony.

Meet Theresa Kachindamoto, traditional chief of the Dedza District (Malawi)

  • Thursday 15 February from 12.45pm to 2pm
    • Screening of the documentary “Malawi : une femme contre les mariages d’enfants” (“Malawi: a woman against child marriage”) (ARTE) followed by a discussion with Theresa Kachindamoto
