English-taught Master courses

English-taught Master courses

All EPL Master courses are offered in English. It is important to note that 95% of our Master programmes are organized by EPL, but a few courses in our Master programmes are taken from other UCLouvain faculties/schools, and may be taught in French (eg. architecture).

To attend such courses, international students are requested to have a mandatory minimum level of  B2. (Cf. European Common Framework of Reference for Languages).

In order to demonstrate your English proficiency, you should send a certificate of your language skills with your exchange student application. The certificate can be an official test (such as TOEFL/IELTS/CAE/CPE) or a statement by an English language teacher. It can also be a statement by a professor at your home institution where he/she confirms that you can pursue studies in your subject area in English and that you have a B2 level.

Searching through the main UCLouvain Study Programme search engine and selecting English as the language of instruction will show you the list of available courses taught in English.

You can also access the full list of EPL Master programmes. In each Master programme, you can navigate through the different courses of this programme, and by choosing a specific course (e.g. LINGI2261) you will see specifications of the course, including the teaching language. The final master thesis work may be performed either in English or in French.

This is a summary presentation of the various Masters programmes offered at EPL.
