Non EU 2nd year

If you are a non-EU student currently in the first year of the FAME master, either in Augsburg or Grenoble, and if you want to perform the next and last year in UCLouvain, you should :

  1. Wait until the FAME meeting of February during which the programs of Semesters 3 and 4 will be presented by each partner University;
  2. Select UCLouvain as first choice after this meeting;
  3. if your selection is accepted by the FAME committee, as will be notified to you shortly after the February meeting,
    -> You will be contacted by the foreign students office, which will ask you to fill a series of forms, including accommodation, registration, etc.
  4. After a few weeks, normally in May, you will receive an official admission letter (or registration permit) from UCLouvain.
  5. Meanwhile, do not forget to register to the second year of the FAME master, as will be told you by the FAME consortium.
  6. Bring or send the registration permit to the nearest Belgian Consulate or Embassy (not to a Honorary Consulate), and apply for a student visa in Belgium for the coming academic year. Information on the procedure to obtain a visa is available on the internet, together with the addresses and phone numbers of Belgian consulates in France and Germany. Be aware that the whole procedure will take a significant time. Without visa, you will not be allowed to enter Belgium.
  7. After some time, if no administrative problem occurs, you will receive a temporary student visa valid for 3 months, by which you will be in a position to enter Belgium as a student.
  8. Prepare your travel to Louvain-la-Neuve and collect all documents required to register such as proof of success in your first year of the FAME master, legal copies of all diplomas including secondary school, etc. (a list will normally be sent to you by the foreign students office). You should arrive during the week preceding the opening of the academic year in UCLouvain. This should be close to Sept. 15; the exact date can be obtained here.
