The Doctorate of Art and Art Sciences is comprised of an artistic production or restoration of a work and theoretical work conducted concurrently. The objective of this doctorate is to create a thesis project that is original and personal, based on interaction between artistic production and theoretical reflection. This double perspective involves collaboration between the Universités et Ecoles Supérieures des Arts (Universities and Higher Schools of Arts) in terms of doctoral training and artistic research. This collaboration is reflected in the inclusion of a co-supervised project, with one academic supervisor from UCLouvain and another supervisor from an Ecole Superieure des Arts.
The doctorate of Art and Art Sciences is accessible to those who have completed a master’s degree with a specialisation in Art of a degree that is judged to be an equivalent prerequisite.
