Prof. Damian Clarke (Univerdad de Chile) will visit UCLouvain on 2 June 2023 to deliver a lecture (primarily aimed at our grad students) providing an overview of the latest DID literature :
- panel event study,
- Synthetic DID,
- de Chaisemartin and D’Haultfoeuille,
- Callaway and Sant Anna etc.
Damian Clarke is one of the leading practitioners of these methods, having himself written some of the Stata modules to implement these methods (see, e.g., his latest publication "Synthetic Difference in Differences Estimation", with Daniel Pailañir, Susan Athey and Guido Imbens). During his visit, he will also be available for meetings.
The tentative format will be as follows: We will start the day (time yet to be decided) with a lecture providing an overview of the new methods. This will be followed by one-to-one meetings with grad students and faculty who will be able to discuss their research with him.
