Course series on the habitability of Earth and other planets or moons of the solar system and primitive life, linked with EOS (Excellence of Science – FNRS & FWO) ET-HOME (Evolution and Tracers of the Habitability Of Mars and Earth)

Researches on habitability aim at better understanding the concept of habitability, i.e. environmental conditions allowing to welcome and maintain life.

Planets evolution relies on their composition, structure, core temperature and by their interaction with oceans and atmosphere if present.

The great questions on habitability also find answers in reliable biosignature research, through paleobiological analysis of microfossil considering their contamination by the present time ; complicated and delicate researches will be covered in the classes. Life in the international space station allows to illustrate life in other environments than Earth.

Classes will also cover what meteors can teach us, these relics of the past of our solar system, and even the effects of meteors on life itself. They will give a new point of view on the origin and conservation of life on other planets, Earth included.

Symposium on the «4th CubeSat Industry Days»
ESA announced the "4th CubeSat Industry Days" which will take place from the 4th to the 6th of June 2019 at ESTEC, in Noordwijk, Netherlands.

This event takes place every two years. The event is a sharing forum for the information on the latest evolution of industry / future ESA priorities and activities in the Cubesat nanosatellites domain, to establish technology road maps / mission, as well as to debate regulatory and technical aspects of the challenges the industry is facing to maintain its growth and competitiveness in this innovative and dynamic space sector.
