Detailed Route

Campus UCL Bruxelles - Access by train and subway

The campus of the UCL-Bruxelles is on line no. 1 of the subway (direction: Stockel) at the station ALMA.

  • From Brussels Central Station, or Brussels-Schuman (European area), reach directly for the Metro (M) and go for line 1 (be careful to take only trains running to "Stockel/Stokkel"; (20 min journey from Brussels-Central).
  • From Brussels "Gare du Midi" (Brussels South Station; terminal for Thalys and Eurostar), reach for the metro (M) and go for line 2 or 6 in the direction of "Elisabeth" (CAUTION: do not head for "Simonis (Leopold II)" wich is the opposite direction), and change at "Arts-Loi/Kunst-Wet" for line 1 (be careful to take only trains running to "Stockel/Stokkel"; 30 min total journey).
  • From Brussels "Gare du Nord" (Brussels North Station), reach for the metro (M) and go for line 3 or 4 (direction "Stalle" or "Churchill"), and change at "De Brouckère" for line 1 (be careful to take only trains running to "Stockel/Stokkel"; 30 min total journey).

From Brussels National Airport

By cab (10 minutes):

CTMA is part of the campus of the Faculty of Medicine at only 5 miles off from the Airport (in the East suburbs of Brussels).
See map of the campus here (pdf, 1.504 kB)

Caution: ask the driver to take the direction of the "Avenue Hippocrate N°54" at "1200 Woluwé-Saint-Lambert" (which every cab driver knows). CTMA is on the first floor of the Claude Bernard tower.

!!! Do NOT ask to be driven to the "Catholic University of Louvain", because this may result in being driven either (i) to our sister Flemish-speaking university "Katholieke Universiteit Leuven" which is located in Louvain (Leuven in Flemish) at about 10 miles East of Brussels; or (ii) to Louvain-la-Neuve, which is where the Registered Offices of the University are located (together with the other Faculties) but which is 20 miles South of Brussels; or (iii) to the Free University of Brussels, which is another university.

By public transportation (1 hour):

At the airport, reach for the "Airport Express Train" at lower level, and ride to "Bruxelles - Gare Centrale" (Brussels Central Station). From there, take the subway as indicated above.

By personal car

See detailed plan here : main roadways to access the campus are indicated. (pdf, 252 kB)
