Prof. Lengelé: Knight of the Legion of Honour and Doctor Honoris Causa

Our Institute is pleased to announce the two distinctions recently awarded to Prof. Benoît Lengelé, member of the IREC Morphology pole.

Knight of the Legion of Honour

On July 9th, the French Ambassador, Mrs. Claude-France Arnould, honoured him with the insignia of Knight of the Legion of Honour, for having practiced, together with Bernard Devauchelle and Sylvie Testelin, the first human face partial transplantation.

Doctor Honoris Causa

On September 27, Professor Mohammed Benlahsen, President of the University of Picardy Jules Verne (UPJV-Amiens) awarded him the title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" during a magnificent ceremony organized on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of university. The work of Prof. Lengelé was praised by Prof. Bernard Devauchelle, Chief of Maxillofacial Surgery Department of Amiens-Picardie University Hospital and President of Faire Faces Institute. One of the speeches was given by Dean Maurice Laude, Honorary Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Amiens and former Secretary General of the French Medical College of Professors of Anatomy (CMFPA).
