The “Chair in Digital Economics” is based at UCLouvain and held by Prof. Paul Belleflamme.
The overall objective of this project is to stimulate theory -and evidence-based research, meeting the highest standards of quality and objectivity, in the field of digital economics.
Founded in June 2020, it acts as the interface between UCLouvain, Sponsors and DERN:
-
Sponsors are companies and organizations that are willing to foster academic research in digital economics;
-
DERN, which stands for ‘Digital Economic Research Network’, is an international network of researchers specialized in digital economics.
While the members of DERN carry their research with full academic freedom and autonomy, research orientations are commonly agreed upon with the Sponsors, and the Sponsors are encouraged to contribute to the scientific activity by sharing data and institutional knowledge.
The current sponsor of the Chair is Google Ireland Limited (2020-2024).
Other sponsors have been approached and should join soon.
