I just wanted to say that Jacques welcomed me to economics from mathematics. He also gave me my first job as research student at CORE (for Jan Svejnar) and sent me to India at the ISI Delhi where I worked in Dr. Chetty's Planning Unit (I see that Dr. Chetty is attending this meeting and I take the opportunity to say hello). ISI is also where I met Jean. This resulted in one academic paper and a novel. Later on, as I was on leave from the IMF, he welcomed me as a CORE member. I also join Bernard Cornet feeling honored that Jacques was 'tutoyer' me.
