IRES offers funding for a 4 to 6 months research stay.

Profile

•  An internationally recognized researcher in economics, with tenure in their university;
•  Specialized in one of IRES main research areas
•  Interested in developing long term collaborations with IRES’ members;
• Committed to share expertise with young researchers and participate in the academic life of IRES.

Practical information

• 4 to 6 months of sabbatical at IRES, located in the center of Louvain-la-Neuve, 30 km from the center of Brussels (40mn by train);
• Starting in September 2023 or in January 2024;
• Reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses in Belgium for up to 10,000 euros;
• Access to office space, secretarial assistance, the University’s library, IT facilities and support...

About IRES

The Institute of Economic and Social Research (IRES) is a leading research center in economics at the Université catholique de Louvain, in Belgium. IRES has a team of:

• 19 faculty members,
• and around 5 postdocs
• and 35 PhD students.

It offers a vibrant research environment, with 2 weekly seminars in economics, strong links with other research centers at UCLouvain in finance, operations research and statistics, and a large academic network of corresponding members and visitors.

We are currently recipient of 20 research grants, including an ERC advanced grant.
