This year again, 5 EPL students fulfill their dream and go to MIT !

For the fifth consecutive year, five EPL students are currently in Boston to participate in a summer research programme at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Martin Braquet whose studies combine physics and nanotech could join Prof. Richard Linares, Co-Director of Space Systems Laboratory (SSL). Matteo Couplet, who is studying for a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics, is welcomed by Professor Laurent Demanet, an alumnus of UCLouvain, now professor at the Math Imaging and Computing Group. Florian Quatresooz has joined another Belgian professor, Julien de Wit, who focuses on the study of exoplanets within the Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS) group. Guillaume Thiran, the com manager of the group who sends us great pictures, is passionate about everything related to wireless communication, 5G and managed to convince Professor Muriel Médard to welcome him in her group on Reliable Transmission and Network Coding. Finally, Dawid Paszko is interested in applied physics. He was the first, in January, to receive an invitation from Professor Vladan Vuletić to work in the field of quantum optics in the Department of Physics at MIT. We can’t wait to welcome them back in September for their last academic year before graduating as engineers next June!
