Support for purchasing digital equipment

aide |

Because good-quality IT equipment is essential to follow your courses and prepare for your exams, UCLouvain helps you to equip yourself with a laptop or tablet if your financial resources are limited.

Three support options suited to your needs

These forms of support cannot be combined and are reserved for UCLouvain students (excluding the Saint-Louis campus) enrolled for a first European university degree. The financial support is only available after the equipment has been purchased or with the signing of an agreement.

Please note that for the Saint-Louis Brussels campus, the arrangements differ, particularly as regards the equipment covered by the support. Visit their financial support pages directly to find out more.

Option 1: the European PC – Dell Pro 16 Plus (new equipment)

This option takes priority if you are entitled to it and allows you to benefit from a high-quality new laptop.

  • Who is it for? Students of modest means enrolled in BAC 1, 2 or 3 or Master 1 (and Master 2 in Medicine) with at least 2 years of study still to complete. This support is not available to international students from outside the European Union.
  • Conditions: a personal financial contribution of €121 and signing of an agreement.

Option 2: partial reimbursement of your own purchase

Have you already bought your own IT equipment during the current academic year? You can obtain financial support retrospectively.

  • Who is it for? Students of modest means who meet certain social and academic criteria but do not meet the criteria for option 1. Not available to international students from outside the EU enrolled for the first time during the current academic year.
  • Conditions: reimbursement of up to 90% of the purchase price, capped at €500 for bachelor's degrees and €250 for master's degrees (support cannot be combined across cycles). The purchase invoice must be in the student's name.

Option 3: the refurbished PC (HP EliteBook 840 G6)

Benefit from a fully refurbished professional-grade laptop.

  • Who is it for? Students of modest means who do not meet the criteria for options 1 and 2.
  • Conditions: ra financial contribution of just €30 (around 10% of the device's actual value) and the signing of an agreement.
