On Monday 22 October from 14:00 - 18:00, the consortium Louvain4Water is pleased to invite you to a highly interdisciplinary conference dedicated to Water Diplomacy and governance.

The programme will feature interventions by renkown international experts from Unesco and IHE-Delft Institute for Water Education.

  • 14:00-14:05: Welcome address - Pr. Johann Morelle, member of the scientific committee of Louvain4Water
  • 14:05- 14:25: What are the causes of water-related natural disasters? Does water governance play a role?Sandra Soares-Frazão (UCL-EPL).
  • 15:05-15:55: The Role of UNESCO in Water Diplomacy - Murray Wayne Biedler (UNESCO- Bruxelles Liaison Office)
  • 15:55-16:30: Coffee break.
  • 16:30-17:20: Water diplomacy – experiences from global to local levels of governance. - Nora Van Cauwenbergh (Department of Integrated Water Systems and Governance, IHE-Delft, The Netherlands)
  • 17:20-18:00. Round table discussion.
