Proposing a sustainable communication plan for Spadel's end customers presented during the final session of the course in the presence of a jury composed of a professor, two assistants and a representative of the Spadel company Charlotte Giroud (Senior Brand Manager and Marketing Representative at CSR Steerco at Spadel).

Students realized an entrepreneurial project in team based on a common interest for a social or environmental cause of their choice. The students made also an intermediate video pitch to present their project and receive feedback from stakeholders (i.e. pedagogical team, other entrepreneurial teams and W.Alter)
Few examples of conferences, webinars and workshops
- In the Business Ethics & Compliance Management course (2021), students met 3 Compliance Officers with complementary expertise, namely Mahsa Sina (Honeywell), Fatma Keskin (Delhaize) and Nathalie Gouache (Technip sa).
- Throughout the Social and Sustainable entrepreneurship (2021) course, students heard from entrepreneurs and social purpose organizations such as KUNblvd, BE.Impact, Birdie, Paysans-Artisans. Students also followed a workshop to develop their "scribing system" skills, allowing them to visually represent their ideas and their entrepreneurial project.
- Charles van Doorslaer, NewB's Compliance Officer openly shared his experience at NewB, his role as a compliance officer, the risks inherent in the industry, and how those risks translate into the ethical positioning of the cooperative (2020).
- Students were offered the opportunity to participate in the webinar on "Ethical Discussions in Artificial Intelligence Applications" (2020) hosted by EBEN, the European Business Ethics Network. The learned about : using digital ethics to meet client expectations, the key drivers and challenges of using artificial intelligence in the insurance industry, and key ethical aspects of auditing firms.
- Her Majesty Queen Mathilde -as Ambassador of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals- met students in management from the five Walloon universities and higher education organisation (UCLouvain, ULiège, UMons, UNamur and EPHEC) on the theme "Challenging the business world in the light of the Sustainable Development Goals" (October 2021). The students were able to present their work, reflections and projects on the SDGs and to question field experts such as Céline Tellier, Walloon Minister of the Environment; Pierre Mottet, President of the Walloon Union of Enterprises; and Prof. Marthe Nyssens, prorector Transition and Society of the UCLouvain.
A day to...
An insiring day at Puratos
On April 19th, 25 students of the Philippe de Woot Major in Corporate Sustainability Management visited Puratos. This was a great opportunity for students to discover the company’s sustainability practices and to exchange with Puratos’s representatives: Jole Segers (Sustainability coordinator), Laurent Thomé (Group Sustainability Director), and Francesca Angiulli (Group Sustainability Manager).
They had also the chance to experience Puratos programme “Mission to Mars” and learn more about the different scientific breakthroughs inspired by the company’s research in this field.
An insiring day at Spadel
On May 4th 2022, 20 students of the Philippe de Woot Major spent the day at Spadel, the famous Belgian water supplier from Spa (province of Liège). This was a great opportunity for students to discover the company’s sustainability practices and to exchange with Spadel’s representatives: Ann Vandenhende, Spadel CSR manger for 10 years, and Eric Kazmierczak, Customer Claims Manager at Spadel for more than 20 years.
Students also had the chance to visit Spadel’s factory and to discover the domain of Berinzenne of the size of 26,000 football pitches around the Spa’s 30 springs. This informative day ended up with water tasting from the Geronstere Spring (rich in iron).
A day at Solvay
In 2018-2019, in the Corporate sustainability reporting and marketing strategy course, students were invited to challenge Solvay leaders on their sustainable reporting and responsible practices. Based on an in-depth documentary analysis and interviews with experts, the students presented the results of their analysis during a visit to Solvay's headquarters in Brussels on May 3, 2019, in the presence of several executives: Michel Washer (Deputy Sustainability Officer), Patrick Marichal (site manager), Gaëlle De Vos (Head of corporate philanthropy) and Alexis Brouhns (Senior executive vice president Region Europe).
