What they say about us

Louvain-La-Neuve, Mons

Antoine Devresse - IB Alumni

Could you tell us a little about your current job?

“I am currently working at Engibex, an engineering and R&D consulting company. My position is that of Business Manager; I am the direct contact with the accounts and consultants. In a way, I am the link between the minds and the business around R&D projects.”

How did the IB programme contribute to your career?

“The IB program has given me an international perspective most of all. My Erasmus in the Netherlands and my internship in the United States have brought an international approach to everything I do in my job.”

Is your job meaningful to you?

“Being in the (engineering) people business means making an impact on people's lives while supporting Belgian R&D projects. Sometimes I wish I could work on some of these projects myself, but for now, I feel like I'm developing into a person who will have more impact in the future.”

Did IB change your life?

“I feel like the IB experience was an amazing opportunity to study and work abroad that would have been more difficult to experience in another programme, there is definitely a part of me that has changed thanks to this experience”

A last advice for our students?

“The IB is a good path to take if you see yourself growing in this increasingly internationalized world we live in. It was without a doubt one of the best years of my life.”

Alice Coupez - IB Alumni

Could you tell us a little about your current job?

“I work as a senior consultant at delaware to implement sustainable solutions that improve efficiency and work quality in factories. Recently, I have worked on the implementation of supply chain processes in SAP, shopfloor cockpits, and interfaces architecture. As a woman working in IT and as a team lead at Delaware, I pay specific attention to the diversity within the teams I work with and do my best for everyone to feel valued and included.”

How did the IB programme contribute to your career?

“Without my 6-month internship in IT consultancy in Indonesia, I would probably never have thought that this career could be such a good fit for me. The IB program encouraged me to dare to get out of my comfort zone, always discovering and learning from new cultures, new ways of working, new industries…”

Is your job meaningful to you?

“Through the projects I am working on, we bring together people from different backgrounds (technical, operational, managerial) and all levels (from operators to C-levels) and we build the most adequate tools to optimize their processes and decrease alienating tasks, waste of time and resources. Organizational changes are never easy, but done right it can have such a big positive impact on people-profit-planet. ”

Did IB change your life?

“Living abroad in a culture very different to your own is certainly life-changing! The culture shock gives you perspective on your perceptions and beliefs, which is essential to then be able to easily adapt to diverse types of environments.  The IB is also a great community of open-minded and adventurous friends with whom you are always happy to reconnect overtime even years after graduating… ”

A last advice for our students?

"Now is your time to be bold, to dare stepping out of your comfort zone to discover what the world has to offer…"
