120 students combine theory and practice to understand the challenges of transition

Louvain-La-Neuve, Mons

As part of their course on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), with Professor Sabine Denis, and on the occasion of the European Sustainable Development Week, 120 LSM students took part in practical workshops in Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve on 9 October in cooperation with the Maison du Développement Durable and around twenty local organisations.

Thanks to this partnership, students were able to discover and understand the stakeholders in Louvain-la-Neuve, who are working to make the world a better, fairer and more equal place.

Initiated 5 years ago by Professor Sabine Denis, this project combining theory and practice is inspired by a ‘head-heart-hand’ pedagogy, which integrates intellectual reflection with action on the ground and human commitment. This model emphasises learning through experience: by working with local associations, students develop a link with the local area and become aware of the real challenges of the transition.
