The LSM External Relations team at the heart of the students’ journey

At LSM, the External Relations team facilitates connections between our students and our corporate partners. Valentine de Callataÿ, Head of External Relations, will give us a more detailed explanation of her team's role within the faculty.

Can you explain the role of the External Relations department within LSM?

External Relations links academia with the business world, facilitating experiential learning opportunities for our students and establishing meaningful connections with the external world. By nurturing relationships with various stakeholders (corporate partners, alumni, the broader community of organizations including government bodies and non-profit entities involved in the “consulting project” course) and by organising faculty events (graduation, information sessions, welcome week), we offer different activities to support and broaden the perspective of our students.

How do you support students throughout their Master’s degree at LSM?

We aim to provide them with resources and opportunities for their career development. For example, we organise career fairs, industry events for our partners and, activities with potential employers. Such interactions, both on campus and on company premises, expose students to real-case challenges, current trends and, practical insights, and help them to develop a better understanding of the business environment.

LSM is fortunate to have numerous partners from various sectors. How do they contribute to the professional development of our students?

LSM partners make an essential contribution to the professional development of our students as well as playing a key part in shaping the education of students in management. Interaction with the partners helps to give students a better understanding of the environment, values, expectations and benefits of different sectors, different roles and different types of companies.

Activities organised by the department are offered during the Master's degree to facilitate the interaction between our students and corporate partners. Could you tell us more about them?

There is a great variety of activities ranging from wider scale events such as job and internship fairs, as well as interactive activities and workshops, such as skills seminars, job discoveries, mock interviews and also company visits. We work with partners, students and professors to create an offer that meets the needs of all stakeholders.
