Follow-up of children born to HIV-1 infected mothers

Follow-up of children born to HIV-2 infected mothers
Measured parameters
- DNA Presence of HIV-2 genome :
- QIAamp DNA Blood Mini Kit
- Digital PCR (ddPCR, QX 200 Bio-Rad)
Sample compliance
Volume required: 2 ml of blood collected on EDTA
Samples cannot be :
- be hemolyzed
- be centrifuged
For provirus research (DNA PCR)
Samples are collected on EDTA:
- after collection, the entire blood sample must arrive at the laboratory within 4 days at room temperature.
NB: if delay > 4 days, send a plasma* in addition
For viral RNA testing (viral load by RNA RT-PCR)
- After centrifugation, the plasma must arrive at the laboratory within 24 hours at room temperature, within 5 days in the refrigerator or frozen.
NB: use polypropylene tubes resistant to -80°C with screw cap
