Master's Thesis
Students enrolled in a double degree LSM/AARHUS are required to write one single Master's thesis. Therefore the students will have to find two professors: one at LSM and one at AARHUS. One will be the main supervisor and the other one the reader.
Students enrolled in the double degree programme with Aarhus BSS as their home university, follow the Aarhus BSS Master’s thesis procedures, guidelines, and calendar. Students enrolled in the double degree with UCLouvain-LSM as their home university, follow the UCLouvain-LSM Master’s thesis procedures, guidelines, and calendar.
The Master's thesis will be written in English. A mandatory oral defense, by videoconference, will take place in front of at least two professors.
The Master’s thesis counts towards 20 ECTS for the degree awarded by UCLouvain-LSM and towards 30 ECTS for the degree awarded by Aarhus BSS. For Aarhus BSS to issue the degree, students from UCLouvain-LSM must write a 10 ECTS research paper during their 3rd semester in Aarhus. The topic of the research paper should be related to that of the Master’s thesis. This will allow Aarhus BSS to recognize the full 30 ECTS package as equivalent to the 30 ECTS thesis at Aarhus BSS and issue the degree.
