Preparatory Module
(only for students who qualify for the course via complementary coursework)
To access this Master, students must have a good command of certain subjects. If this is not the case, in the first annual block of their Masters programme, students must take supplementary classes chosen by the faculty to satisfy course prerequisites.
To be admitted to the master's degree in interpreting, students must first have mastered certain subjects. If the previous degree did not cover these subjects, the jury will add the necessary additional courses, known as “complementary modules,” to the first year of the student's master's program.
The complementary module is a set of teaching units (UE) belonging to the first cycle of studies, the bachelor's degree in translation and interpreting.
The complementary module is a set of teaching units (UE) from the first cycle of studies, the bachelor's degree in translation and interpreting. It is worth a maximum of 60 credits and is tailored to the student by the master's jury. It aims to provide students with the fundamental knowledge necessary to successfully begin and complete the master's program (120 credits) in interpreting. As the bachelor's degree in translation and interpreting is not offered at the Louvain-la-Neuve campus, students take the courses added to their master's program in
interpreting at UCLouvain Saint-Louis – Brussels, at the Marie Haps Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (TIMB).
The standard program consists mainly of translation and interpreting courses in the two languages chosen by the student. Each student will receive an individual program based on their previous studies.
UCLouvain Saint-Louis - Brussels undertakes to make every effort to ensure that students can participate in all the learning activities of their complementary program, without however being able to guarantee the compatibility of the schedules of these learning activities.
The terms and conditions for participation and assessment of the learning activities in question are defined by UCLouvain Saint-Louis - Brussels.
