LET'S DEVELOP CARPOOLING & CO-CYCLING
VIA LOCAL COMMUNITIES OF COLLEAGUES AND NEIGHBOURS
Launched in September 2023, the "colleagues & neighbours" pilot project aims to create communities of colleagues living within 25-kilometer from Louvain-la-Neuve to encourage co-cycling and carpooling. Twelve local community groups have been set up and are animated on WhatsApp. Each of these groups brings together colleagues living within a radius of about 3 kms.
► Project objectives ?
Participate in the collective effort to reduce CO2 emissions in a flexible way.
► Why get involved ?
1. Request or offer a lift to work when your vehicle (car, motorcycle or bike) is unusable (breakdown, garage maintenance, torrential rain, snow, etc.).
2. Organize systematic carpooling, one or more days a week.
3. Be accompanied to work by bike, the first time, from time to time when the weather is fine, or more regularly.
4. Organize a one-car trip to the nearest station and take the train or bus.
5. Ask for help to drop (and pick up) children at school in Louvain-la-Neuve in case of illness, holyday or teleworking.
6. Go out together to an evening activity organized by UCLouvain in Louvain-la-Neuve.
7. Develop any mutual aid that will help reduce CO2 emissions when getting to work.
