Between July and November of this year, The NA62 experiment at CERN SPS has been taking data again after two years without beam. In light of the encouraging results from the 2016-2018 data-taking period, NA62 has been approved to continue running until CERN Long Shutdown 3.
But those two years of beam stop have not been idle. Aside from maintenance on the existing system, several major upgrades took place (GTK, HASC) and two new detectors were installed (ANTI0, VetoCounter). The VetoCounter project was led by the NA62 group at CP3.
