There are a wide range of welcoming activities on offer at UCLouvain for international students arriving at the Louvain-la-Neuve and Woluwe (Brussels) campuses.
An International Students' Day takes place in Louvain-la-Neuve on the Friday before the beginning of each term of the academic year (for 2022-2023, on September 16, 2022 and on February 3, 2023) and in the first term in Woluwe.

Meet & Greet service
Local students offer a special "meet and greet" service to help new students in their approach upon arrival and hence to facilitate their integration.
Welcome sessions, specially designed for international/exchange students, are organized by each Faculty at the beginning of the term (in September and in February).
Important information is given during the welcome sessions such as registering to courses and exams, how to validate the learning agreement, where to find the courses schedule, and so on.
Time is also allocated to answer your questions.
Don't miss this core-activity !
Each international student may benefit from the Buddy Programme. A local student helps out and supports an international student from her/his very first day in Belgium and throughout his/her the stay at UCLouvain.
Held every late September/early October (in Louvain-la-Neuve and Woluwe) and in mid-February in Louvain-la-Neuve, it marks the end of the welcome period.
You will have an opportunity to meet plenty of new students, as well as students who have been here a while and can share their own experiences.
